CSU-Pueblo Librarian Courtney Bruch Presents at National Conference

CSU-Pueblo Library Instruction Coordinator, Courtney Bruch, and West Virginia University Director of Instruction and Information Literacy, Carroll Wetzel-Wilkinson, presented a poster refereed by the American College and Research Libraries Immersion Alumni Program Planning Working Group at the annual American Libraries Association Conference in Chicago, IL on July 11th. Bruch and Wetzel-Wilkinson are both graduates of the Institute for Information Literacy Immersion Program, a program whose alumni are recognized as leaders in teaching lifelong learning skills, improving techniques for assessing learning outcomes and in creating environments of discovery. Their poster, entitled “Frontier Life Is Not Easy: Positive Strategies for Surviving/Thriving in Spite of the Realities of Information Literacy Leadership”, identified common obstacles that stifle progress and conclusions that foster library instruction program development and change through authentic communication and “influence without authority”.
