I like the library. I spend a lot of time there.
One thing I would like is more computers or at least more availability. So many times, I have needed a computer for school related work and there are no computers free. The probelm is that the people on them are on myspace. It really bugs me. I don’t know if there’s any fair solution because I don’t think there should be time limits. Anyway that’s my feedback.

    Hi Natalie,

Thanks for bringing up this issue. For the meantime, in response to your request, we have begun to leave our instruction classroom (L214A), which is adjacent to the Library Information Commons Computer Lab, open whenever it is not in use. This will provide 12 more machines on a regular basis. Also, we have laptops available at the circulation desk which you can check out if all the other computers are being used. There are several places around the 2nd floor with open network jacks where you can plug in a laptop and work on the network.

I will continue to monitor the situation and I would appreciate hearing from you if you continue to be unable to get a computer. If it becomes necessary to ask students to vacate a computer to allow someone else to pursue research, our policy does allow for this. My preference, however, would be for library patrons to monitor themselves and please notice if others are waiting to use a computer. Simply courtesy could go a long way in this situation.

    Thanks Natalie!
